Meet Bilal

I've taught more than 1,200 people to drive in Lahore, and most of them were nervous on day one. My job is to make the car feel boring before we go anywhere busy.

How I teach

  1. Quiet streets firstYour first lesson is on an empty road near your home. Ferozepur Road can wait until you ask for it.
  2. I never raise my voiceI have a brake on my side. If something goes wrong, we pull over, I sketch it in my notebook, and we go again.
  3. One skill per lessonClutch, roundabouts or reversing. One goal each time, so you can feel what got better.
  4. The test, rehearsedIn your last lessons we practise the parking and road-sign questions the licence test asks for.
I was scared of Lahore traffic. Bilal started me on empty streets near home, and after a month I drove myself to university on Canal Road.
